Fitness Apps

Below are my favorite and most used fitness apps! I love apps, and the ability to try fitness and workout apps was the primary reason I bought an iPod Touch. And it’s still the main thing I use my iPod for today.

Zombies, Run! Super cool audio adventure that's not just for running. I use it for outdoor biking!

5K training app - with Zombies! Extremely well done 8 week training plan for beginning runners with excellent cueing - or a fun way to do intervals with some new stories if you already finished the first app.

RockMyRun - A handy new way to access the awesome music mixes from Rock My Run.

BeatBurn Elliptical Trainer - My favorite workout on the elliptical! Love the guided audio workout, and especially enjoy the beatsync technology that shifts the music tempo to match the pace.

BeatBurn Treadmill + Outdoor Trainer - almost as fun as the elliptical version...except for the running parts, heh.

Personal Running Trainer

Run Training app that offers voice over coaching with a large variety of distances: 1 mile, 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, and all the way to a full marathon. Great for pairing with a playlist from RockMyRun!

lolo Boot Camp Challenge

Boot Camp Challenge - A fun, varied workout app that offers over 200 exercises and three fitness levels to choose from. Also includes the great lolo feature of beat sync, which matches the tempo of the music to your exercises. Their built in workouts are a great choice when you are pressed for time.

BeatBurn Treadmill + Outdoor Trainer - almost as fun as the elliptical version...except for the running parts, heh.

Tempo Magic Pro - change the beat of your music without changing the pitch! I use this one for dog walks to keep us moving at a good pace.

Spin Companion - My favorite app for making custom workouts for bike rides! It allows use of multiple playlists (and shuffle them!) for each segment, making good use of my many, many playlists!
