Welcome to the photo tour of my basement gym! My basement gym is located in an unfinished room in our small basement, and is approximately 17′ long by 11′ wide, with 7′ ceilings and 6 1/2′ foot rafters. I started acquiring fitness equipment in 1999, and now have quite a collection. I’m very happy with my home gym, but it does have some flaws. I sometimes have ceiling issues with certain exercises, and occasionally need more open floor space for video workouts. However, when I set up the gym, video workouts were not a priority, and most of the time I’m able to work with the space I have. I also have the option to exercise out in the garage when the weather is decent, so that’s a nice alternative to have if I’m doing a video that requires more ceiling or floor space – and is light on equipment.
